The HxC Floppy Emulator replace the floppy disk drives of an airplane FMC data loader, used here for flight simulators.
The data loaders are used to update the navigation database of the FMC (Flight Management Computer).

The Flight simulators presented here use the same FMC hardware present into the real airplanes.
The floppy disk drive of a Teledyne PDL-615 data loader was retrofitted with an HxC Floppy Drive Emulator.
This data loader is used here on Airbus A330 / A340, Boeing 737 and Fokker 100 flight simulators.
The Airbus A330 / A340 flight simulator use two Akai S1000 samplers to generate all the cockpit alert and ambient sounds.
All the sound are loaded from floppy disks. The HxC Floppy Emulator replace now the floppy disk drives of these samplers
