Hi, recently installed HxC firmware HxCFEUSB_V5_2_3_1a_AppleII on a Gotek for my Apple IIc.
Reading disks appears to be fine and I can write individual files to disk, but is it possible to
format a blank image from my Apple IIc? I get errors in DOS 3.3 and ProDOS when attempting to format
an image. I could work around that but it would be useful for game save disks, rather than using real floppies.
Thanks

- Are you using HFE or DSK files ?
(-> Should work with AT32F435 Gotek and HFE files).
Re: Apple II init blank disk
Hi,
I'm using a SFRKC30.AT2 (QFN32 F415 ARTERY MCU)
I have tried DSK, and HFE files (the standard and V3 version of HFE files)
In ProDOS I get an error 0 trying to format (init) a disk image, DOS 3.3 fails as well.
Is my Gotek MCU too slow?

Re: Apple II init blank disk
Not "too slow", but with no enough memory for reliable long write operations :woods71 wrote: Wed Jun 25, 2025 11:40 pm Hi,

Re: Apple II init blank disk
I understand this much better now. Thankyou for clearing this up for me.
I will look for a AT32F435 Gotek to format floppy images.
