Hi,
Im sending the image you have sent last time formatted in Sharp MZ800. Before formatting it shows "unformatted error". During formatting it showed "filespace error". After fomat during reading it showed "OK!"
20260214DSKA0003FormattedInSharp.zip
(538 Bytes) Downloaded 13 times
A tried also "Roland FW" from standard package and result was the same no matter what image I have used.
Just one think, when reading Roland QD image from your package it showed some data on the disk. After formatting the behaviour is the same as all others images.
As I know based on internet information Roland and SHARP quick disk are slightly different. SHARP one is more dumb, it saves serial datastream directly to writing head (strange for me in this case is WD and RD blinking during formatting, which sohould not be possible in spiral physical disk format)?
Im quite optimistic after your finding something to be improved in the FW.
Thank you!

Try to boot on the images from this post with the attached firmware :
viewtopic.php?p=26717#p26717
(MZQD.zip)
HxCUSBFE.UPD

At least the gotek shouldn't crash anymore

Hi,
I tried the sent FW and Gotek didn't halt during booting :-)
But the behavior of first read, format and read after format is the same.

yes the firmware mute the data line outside the "ready" area... i suspect that the MZ800 may don't like this.

Try this firmware instead :
HxCUSBFE.UPD
(67 KiB) Downloaded 11 times
again : Try to boot these images :
download/file.php?id=2392
Don't try to format / alter them yet.
Don't use the images already present on your usb stick - replace them with the ones present in the zip file.

Hi,
thanks.
Booting and reading shows "Unformat Error". It reads about 5 seconds, which should be the right time. Booting shows "Unformat error" immediately.
Formatting shows "Filespace error" after 4 times RD-WR on display.
After formatting the reading shows "Ok!". That means file is altered somehow that Sharp recognize as blank QD.
Do you think there is a way how to solve?

Hi,
with this image and last FW from this post it shows "Hard err". With reading and with booting.
During format "No filespace error", read after format "Ok!"

And if you try so save a file on the formatted image ? (please share the hfe after the file write)

(I will work on the write issue this week end.)

Hi,
I'm sending the files. The last FW from the forum, the last QD image from forum. 1. just read "Hard error", 2. just format - reading "Ok" 3. format and Flappy game written.
QDWrite.zip
(75.48 KiB) Downloaded 9 times
EDIT: Even after formatting and writing Flappy, reading shows just "Ok!" but, no files stored. Booting the same.
