Which Gotek to purchase for MC50 MKII

Post by MKB »

Hello all, first post here. Which Gotek should I buy for using the HxC firmware with a MC50 MKII? I also have a MC50 MKI and was able to get the Gotek SFRM72-TU100K working out of the box with a simple jumper change (no HxC firmware on it). But this drive did not work in the MKII. This makes me a bit nervous about just buying a drive from the HxC compatibility list.

If I understand correctly, the list of Gotek drives will all work with all MC50's if the HxC firmware is loaded and correctly configured on the Gotek. Is this correct?

I also checked on the compatibility list, and there is an entry for the MC50 MKII on the list with a link to a forum post, but the link on the forum post opens a web page saying "nothing here". So no help there.

I just need a tested compatible Gotek USB FDD emulator part number, and will then purchase HxC to install on it.

Thanks for all your help!

My recommendation is just to take any gotek and reflash it.

You can reflash your current SFRM72-TU100K with the hxc firmware :

https://hxc2001.com/docs/gotek-floppy-e ... ation.html

You can get back the missing page there :

And indeed, as presented on this page, you can also get a true SD HxC Floppy Emulator, already flashed and working :
