Hello,
This not an HxC firmware or "HxC Floppy Emulator".
I can't provide any support for this firmware.
I only provide support to HxC Floppy Emulator firmware and/or hardware users :
For the gotek :

I apologize for the belated thanks Jeff
if I had known earlier that it was easier to use the SD version instead of the USB, I would have done it...

Anyway the hxc firmware installation on this gotek can be done very easily with just an usb stick.

Re: Kurzweil K2000
And definitely, when it doesn't want to, it doesn't want to!!
Whatever the firmware put on the USB key, I always get the error message E01: Error 1 (blink 1 times and 2 seconds pause cycle) No entry point (→no software flashed)
My English is not too good, I may have misunderstood a subtlety in the installation procedure which is however not complicated:
1)Take a FAT32, FAT16 or FAT12 formatted USB stick : OK
2)Remove any older *.upd file from the USB stick : OK
3)Copy the new firmware file (*.upd) to the USB stick : OK the upd file is copied to the USB key in FAT32. There's nothing else on it
4)Insert the USB Stick into the emulator and press both buttons : OK
5)Power up the device and keep the buttons pressed for at least 2 seconds : OK
6)Wait some seconds… its done! NO!!
message [E01] on the screen

You need to get and install the HxC bootloader first : https://hxc2001.com/store
Re: Kurzweil K2000
I recently pulled my k2500RS out of storage (floppy drive still works). I also have a Gotek USB stick version, I maybe bought around 10 years ago or so(?). Never used it, I think I intended to use it in another synth but never did.
I don't have any floppy drives that I can use with my PCs (windows). I'm considering trying the Gotek in the k2500, but before try to install it I need to know if I can do system updates on the k2500RS with the Gotek. My K2500RS is at v2.13 and it looks like there's v3.02 available. I'd like to update it before diving into it again.
TL;DR
Can you do K2500RS system updates from the Gotek?

Re: Kurzweil K2000
Update:
Even though I'd guess it's unlikely it'd be a problem, I'd rather play it a little safe when it comes to the OS update. So I tracked down a USB floppy drive I can borrow from a friend... I'll have to drill a hole in one of the 720k disks I have for another device to make it a 1.44m, but I should be good on this side of things.
