R2 and R9 are 1206 SMD ! (i need to correct this in the txt file)
Yes i forgot to indicate R9. You can find it on the bottom layer, between C18 and C16.
D5 is optional.. Do I have to shorten anything.. or just leave it open as it is..?
leave it open.
L1 is optional. Location must be shorten by wire.. ok?
yes
Is the power coming from the floppy connector (CON2) or from
USB?
from the USB.
D1 is just a Power-ON LED.. so should be on, when power is applied..
exactly.
What is the meaning of D2, D3 and D4?
D2-> floppy activity led (on when the target computer access to drive)
D3 -> step_led (on when the head is moving)
D4 ->usb link led
What are good tests after assembling..?
First thing, check that there are not shortcut between VCC and the ground. After this, plug the board by USB to an PC, start the application and go to the Usb stats window (menu Infos). You should have an data throughput of ~32768 bytes/second.
Then load an amiga floppy image: the data throughput should go up to 127kB/s.
If ok, unplug the usb cable, and plug the board to the target computer (amiga...), and replug the usb cable, and start the target computer and Enjoy

.
(Never plug/unplug the floppy cable to the board while the USB cable is present !!!)
