USB Emulator Boards

Post by Mike57 »

I bought a DSS-1 keyboard new way back in 1986 and a DSM-1 in 89. I want you to know I have waited a long time for something like this to come along, especially now that my fd died the other day. I cant wait to get started on this project to revive my ol'e DSS-1. Are you taking orders for any of the USB Emulator boards and do have instructions or guide for the software in English.

Yup,

I'm the person who carries out the series of the 20 HxC Cards.
I have not envisage anything concerning possible a 'next order' for the international people.

Sorry

Hi!

First, congrats for such a great project that is HxC Floppy Drive Emulator. I will be very interested in buying an implementation of the USB approach. I think I am late for that 20 batch, but perhaps there is room for sending me another one if possible, when possible :)

Thanks!

Hi, I am a test engineer for a single board computer mfg'r and I am very interested in this project in order to replace one of my biggest headaches--corrupted floppy diskettes on our product testheads--with a floppy emulator solution. This is the only thing I have been able to find that comes close to that goal. Please let me know if you plan to build any of the SDCARD version. I will buy one to evaluate and if it works for me, I will buy at least 30 more.

I would prefer to not have the LCD and to cut the size down as much as possible. If that is something you think you can accomodate, let me know.

If you dont wish to fulfill this request, then I would also like to see the design files/bom/instructions translated to English and I would be more than happy to have the boards built by my normal PCB provider.

New batch? Or PCB files for small batch by someone else..?

Post by petersieg »

Hi, Will there be a new batch made?
Are the PCB layout files (Eagle; Gerber) available so that one can ask some pcb manufacturer for quotations..? For both versions (USB+SD Card)?

Great project! Many thanks!

I want to pre-order

Post by neilybod »

I'd like to pre-order 1 of the USB units from the next batch. Please add me to your waiting list.

Incidentally, I'd buy 2 of the SDCARD version, if anyone starts making them.
Somebody must have contacts in the electronics world in order to start producing these commercially- there is SO much interest in them!!! great work - just frustrated to get my hands on one!!
I tried to access the 'Giants' website, but the english language link doesn't work :(

I did ask in forum64 and cpc forum for the interests in the usb version, since there are no pcb files released for the sd stand alone version, that are suitable for a pcb manufacturer..

The interest was quite low (5 pcb's) incl. 2 for myself.. that is way to low to get a reasonable price..

There was much more interest in the stand alone version! I also will wait until
pcb files are released for this version..
