SD vs. USB version

Post by rumpelfilter »

Hi! I'm considering to purchase this wonderful piece of tech to get my Korg DSS-1 back to life! Since I'm using the instrument only in studio (too heavy to be carried) I guess the usb version should be fine, but I wanted to have your opinion on the real advantages of the SD version (apart fromt he obvious ones, like having an SD card makes the whole thing independent from the computer).
The second question is, browsing the forums I couldn't find anything on whether you can just add multiple isos on the SD card and then change them on the fly through the interface... I suppose that you can, but I wanted to be sure.
Thanks a lot!

Actually the most important difference is that the USB version doesn't have the write support. The SD version support read & write.

Thanks a lot!
I'll get the SD version!

ps: I had big trouble accessing this post, since it would always give me an error saying I don't have permissions to read it... I was only able to get here, by selecting the forum from the drop-down list at the bottom of the page... then it started to work again. Just to let you know.

Are there plans to allow writing using the USB version? I just purchased one not understanding you cannot write. Guess that sucks for me. :(

No this is not possible.

Try to contact Lotharek (http://lotharek.pl/null/page/page/kontakt) , i think that an exchange with a SDCard version is possible.
