Hello.
When the machine is turned on, the ladder version (sw) first appears on the screen, and to the right of it is the machine code. For example, 5174M. It must match the diskette and its record. On the system disk, the code is located at address 0108 in the first track .In order to upgrade the system, you must have a correct sys.disc with the same software (ladder). Then you can program a new eprom and enter the code from the disk you are using in the editor at address 002ff0.

Interesting ! I suppose that there are some others machine specific parameters on the disk (machine configuration, calibration tables ? ..)

Yes, there is data on the machine's configuration on the disk.I noticed that the floppy first reads the records on the disk, that is, how many tracks there are. Then it checks the code in the first track, then it starts to load the data from the diskette But I am talking about the data in the eprom, i.e. the ladder. I compared several eproms with the same ladder from several different machines. By comparing in the Hex comparator, the only difference can be seen at the specified address, where it can be seen that that machine code displayed on the screen.
I believe this would be described in the previous post, it would work. I haven't had a chance to test my theory yet. The problem with the multitronic I have is that it doesn't use the ladder I have on the correct system disks.

Hello All,

I bought HxC Floppy Emulator for Arburg Multronica with one disk, but it says sync error. With the hfe files from the forum says wrong disk
I can change the eprom serial inside to match with correct disk if i now disk serial number.. This number is written on the eprom and upper left corner on the screen update the machine.

Can somebody with hfe file for one disk for Multronica give me hfe file and serial number that is right for that disk..
Or instruction how to find my disks serial number..
I have made raw files with KruoFlux raw and converted with HxC to Hfe file and works great on dialogica.. but i do not have correct disk for Multronica..
or give me some other way..

any help is welcome

Hello everyone, I changed the number in the loader prom at address 002ff0 to the number of the system disk address 0108, the loader number was also displayed on the screen, but the system disk aborted the loading process with "wrong disk". Does anyone have a solution, thanks!

I read this floppy disk using Kryoflux, uploaded the Raw files to the HXFLOPPY Emulator — the floppy disk is damaged. I need a system floppy disk (with any serial number) or an Hfe file is required., for the SD Hc Lothatec disk drive emulator. Injection molding machine -Arburg with the Hydronic_Dialogic control system.

I asked a question about the system disk on Arburg_Hidronica_Dialogic and found the solution myself.
Using Kryoflux, I got the contents of 2 system floppy disks, loaded them into the HxC Emulator and in the floppy disk track analyzer mode, found out the faulty tracks on the disks.On one floppy disk, Track 73.0 to be damaged, I copied it from another floppy disk,
so from two damaged system floppy disk, I got 2 working copies floppydisk for the Arbugg_Hidronic_Dialogic controller.
Of course, it is impossible to do this without Kryoflux and HxC emulator.
I checked both options, from the floppy disk image and SD HXC emulator.
Both options work .

How did you manage to copy the records from one disk to another? I was able to do it in the program only when I downloaded it, but I can't anymore. I tried different sw versions from the site, but it doesn't work with paste. It can be deleted. track but not to be recorded.
As for hydronica D, the system disks from the hxc site can boot the system in most cases, even if they are not with the machine code. You just have to try to load it several times. I personally tried this several times.It doesn't boot 100%, but it works in 90% of cases.

Using Kryoflux, I got the contents of 2 system floppy disks( Raw.file), damaged tracks are marked in red. I took a good track (green) and inserted it instead of a faulty track. Then I wrote the recovered sw3096 file and sw2650 file to floppy floppy disks using Kryoflux.

I didn't try these recoveries on Kryoflux, I tried on the HxC emulator, and it stopped working. Thanks for the info, I'll try it and let you know.

Kryoflux is not able to decode / encode Arburg multornica tracks. i think that what pismerovvasb1 means is that he swapped the raw track files between his different dumps. and it uses the hxc software to locate the good or bad tracks.

Anyway i don't recommend to directly write raw files from the kryoflux.


The recommended work flow is :

1 - Dump the floppy disk with any stream dumper (kryoflux for example). You will have raw or scp "stream" files

2 - Start the HxC Software

3 - Load the stream file (Button "Load")

4 - Once done have a look the the track viewer (Button "Track Analyzer"). Set "Arburg"
If your floppy is in perfect good state, you should have something like this :

0 bad sector. Fine !


5 - On the HxC software -> button "Export" -> Select "Arburg file (*.arburgfd) . choose a file name then "Save".


6 - You now have an arburgfd file. This is a decoded file of the floppy disk content.


At this point and if needed, you can modify this file to edit the serial number for example.
For this you can use an hexadecimal editor.
The serial number is at the offset 0x100 :

Don't forget that once you have altered the track data, you have to change/fix the track checkum ! :

The 16 bits checksum number is at the end of each track.
For this you can use the hexadecimal editor tools to fix the checksum : Select the data area (0x000<>0x9FD) -> Tools -> 16 bits checksum.

Then save the file.

7 - Back to the HxC Floppy Emulator software. Load the arburgfd file. Go to the "Track Analyzer" window.

If you have successfully modified the file with the right checksum / or not modified at all the file should have something like this with 0 bad sector :

If you fail at the modification :

In this case you have restart and try again.

If all is ok - you can export the disk to different format :

Button "Export" then select :

- HFE File if you want to use the image with an SD HxC Floppy Emulator.

- KF Stream file (*.raw) if you want to write a real disk with the Kryoflux.

- SCP file (*.scp) if you want to write a real disk with some others floppy disk stream writer (Supercard pro format)

Choose a name then "Save".

This whole process allows you to check the original disk state, fix if needed the tracks, and regenerate a clean bitstream without all the noises and defects of the original disk.

If you have bad sectors on the original disk, this may be fixed by merging/exchanging tracks with others disk, if the binary/software is the same !
But then you be aware that you are starting a "Frankenstein" work


Anyway for the Arburg Multronica owners :

- Keep all your System Floppy Disks ! - Even if they don't work anymore ! :

Your system disks were specifically written for your machine, and will not work on other machines, even if they have apparently the same machine model ...
And apparently Arburg doesn't provide them anymore since years !

Fixing a bad floppy is easier than having to reconstruct a complete one from scratch (with all the serial numbers and firmware/ladder issues ...)

I provide service to recover / convert Arburg floppy disks, but this is a paid service (recover/fixing a disk can take a long time ...) and the disks need to be sent to France.
