if you have an oscilloscope you will have to check if the signal write data and write gate signals are going correctly to the right uC pins.
you may have, for example, a soldering issue, or a defective floppy ribbon.
Got some news. Ended up buying another Gotek (this time an Artery AT32F415 one), flashing it with HxC and... it works (on the machine, at least).
Reads from, writes to and even formats the .HFE image file.
All that I can think is that there is something wrong with the ST32 chip in the other floppy emulator. Maybe a damaged port, causing it not to write the files.
Still got some issues, though. When tried it in the PC, the transfer software was unable to read the files. Will look a little closer into this later today or maybe tomorrow.
Now I have a new question: is there any software that is able to mount the .HFE files as a virtual floppy drive in Windows? Due to the non-DOS file format, the only way of transferring machine program files from the PC to the machine is by having two Goteks and using the original transfer software to write the files to the .HFE image in the flashdrive on the PC. Is there something I am missing?
