Jog Wheel

Out of curiosity : would it be technically possible to somehow install a jog wheel to replace the L + R buttons?

I think it would be quite cool but wonder if any there's reason why it's not doable.

There is one problem with this, for the firmware updater you need to press L+R at the same time, can't do this with a wheel. Unless you keep the buttons in parallell with the wheel. Or maybe there is a rotary encoder that can also be pushed like a button, and you could configure it so that pushing presses both buttons?
