Yamaha SU700 + Gotek Amiga Support needed

Post by r3x-mus1c »

Hello HxC community, 8)

I am reaching out for specific support on getting a Gotek to function on my Yamaha SU700:

• The Gotek I installed is a Gotek Amiga, V3.44. I don't know if this Gotek only works on Amiga computers, or if it will also function with this sampler.

• I removed additional jumpers per forum advice, and have just one jumper installed on the S0 position. I formatted my USB stick to FAT32.

• I installed the HxC software, but it does not let me create virtual disks with my own sounds (I might not have the correct "File system type" selected or file format, if you all could advise me on that) and gives the following error: "FTDI D2XX Driver not installed!" For reference, my computer is an M3 Pro Macbook. The software appears to work fine, but I'm not sure of what floppy settings I need to select for a Yamaha SU700 disk emulation.

• On my SU700, the machine only loads the SU700 demo file, but nothing else. Also, the sample button no longer responds when I press it (it did work when I still had the original floppy disk in the machine), nor does it let me go into sample settings. This makes me think there is some disconnect between the Gotek and the machine (which I installed with the ribbon cable and red/white cables).

Given all this, what do I need to do to get this Gotek to work on my SU700? Is there a way for me to install the HxC software onto my Gotek Amiga if necessary? Do I need to purchase a different Gotek that works with the sampler? :?: :?:

Any support would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you,
