Gotek HxC + Akai s-950 - Works!

Yesterday I decided to install a Gotek HxC in my Akai s-950 and it works smooth.

I have set jumper to S0 and floppy cable as picture below: (sorry about the dusty picture)


The only complication was to get the drive out, but I found this video which was helpful in that case:

With the Emulator software, you can use the predefined disk layout “Akai s-950” under “Load Raw image”

I also wanted to test it and used the following packages:

Thanks. Turns out my issue was I used the wrong cfg file.

I am looking at an HxC flashed drive on eBay. Do you recall what firmware version you used? I am looking at a unit flashed with v3.0.8.2a, will this work with an Akai S950? Thanks in advance!

I used the latest version at the time. Once drive is flashed you can update using USB stick.

Hello everybody. Sharing how i resolved problem with Akai S950 not recognizing gotek
After I installed flashed HxC Gotek, i couldn't write anything on floppy image, because all images on usb stick were UNF (as Akai S950 says)
same with loading files.
But after I reconnected a floppy cable on my gotek upside down, it became working. Hope that helps
