Hey Jeff mate,
I got 3 questions about HxC...
1. I'm having 2 HxC units (1xRev.B that I upgraded to rev.C and 1xRev.C)
On the older Rev.B unit the LCD panel instead of the folder icon shows an <-- arrow. I checked the old LCD screen in the new Rev.C board and it still shows the arrow instead of folder. Ofc, the new LCD screen shows the folder in both units so I guess it's an character not available in the charset of the LCD screen?
Not so important but can this be fixed to represent a folder like the new one?
2. Since I have my first HxC mounted permanently inside my Amiga A600 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9sYWUJIUyK4), I find irritating enough to have the annoying clicking sound that all Amigas do.
Many patches ofc exist to correct this error in real drives (by patching Trackdisk.device that resides in the Kickstart ROM). Since I guess HxC doesn't actually use Trackdisk.device the patches don't stop the annoying click sound. Ofc, we can disable the sound once and for all through the Configuration file of HxC but that mutes completely the unit which isn't nice (hearing drive noises while disk is loading is cool and kinda essential for some people).
Can something be done about this issue?
3. Will there be any future version that will support better sorting? I mean, atm sorting is done iirc based on timestamp. For example I have an SD with a "Games" directory with subdirectories "A","B",...,"Z" where games are put based on their name. Because I'm putting files day-by-day the sorting isn't done alphabetically so i need to search most of times.
Massive renaming timestamps with an external application is an option ofc, but it would be really great if that could be avoided by HxC having a sort option either on it's configuration or via an alternative easier method. (it was also mentioned in an older thread iirc).
Thanks for your time and your wonderful product!!!

Try this firmware and tell me the patches works now :mfilos wrote: 2. Since I have my first HxC mounted permanently inside my Amiga A600 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9sYWUJIUyK4), I find irritating enough to have the annoying clicking sound that all Amigas do.

About the sorting, this will hard and long to do this in the uC. But this perfectly doable in the windows softwaremfilos wrote: 3. Will there be any future version that will support better sorting? Re: Some questions about HxC SD...
OMG Jeff!
No more annoying clicks YEY!!!!!!!
I haven't used anticlick programs yet, but the new Trackdisk.device from Cosmos (that has the patch already present) worked out of the box!
(Only the folder icon now to be fixed. For sorting I'll find other ways
)
You are da man.

Re: Some questions about HxC SD...
So, if you use some windows software to change the file dates to the same thing, does the sort order then go by file name given it can no longer sort by date?
Re: Some questions about HxC SD...
The file order on the sd hxc is the fat directory entry order (not exactly the date order).Vim Fuego wrote:So, if you use some windows software to change the file dates to the same thing, does the sort order then go by file name given it can no longer sort by date?
to sort files try this software :

Re: Some questions about HxC SD...
Thanks for the link Jeff. I ordered my HxC for my A1200 last week, I was just getting the SD card ready to go before it arrived.
Re: Some questions about HxC SD...
Yeah,Thanks for the link to the DrvSort Program! Cool piece of software. Perfect For SD,CF,Flash Drvs, etc. ; 0 )
